VMF START STOP EFB
EFB staat voor Enhanced Flooded Battery. Sommige fabrikanten spreken van Enhanced Cycling Mat ofwel ECM. Bij EFB/ECM technologie is de positieve plaat gecoat met een polyester scrim zodat het actieve materiaal extra houvast heeft aan de plaat. De cyclusvastheid is daardoor hoger dan bij traditionele accu's en maakt de accu extra bestand tegen schokken en trillingen.
VMF EFB accu’s zijn bestemd voor voertuigen met een hoog energieverbruik of, in het bijzonder, met een conventioneel start-stopsysteem zonder remenergieterugwinning.
In personenauto's die als nieuw voertuig met EFB-accu's werden uitgerust moet bij accuvervanging altijd weer een EFB-accu worden ingebouwd. Upgraden naar AGM kan natuurlijk wel.
